The department delivers lectures on the course "Mathematical modelling in natural sciences", the courses of higher mathematics and computer science for the students of other faculties, and also special courses for the students of specialization "Mathematical Modelling".
By the settled tradition the scientific activity at this department is carried out in various areas of mathematics and mechanics, but the basic direction of scientific research is the theory of stochastic differential equations.
